This is a hello page1. π
$ hello _
Hello.
My name is Alex, or you can call me βasceβ, βasciiβ or βFrostyβ. You can learn more about me here .
I have points-of-presence in a lot of places. If you'd like to contact me, I'd suggest doing so through e-mail. Some other places you can reach me are listed below. Come say hi! I'm a friendly enough chap. π
$ mail -s "hey" alex@alexmbugua.me _
Preferred: Email
Email is my preferred way to have a real conversation. I read everything and try to reply to anything that is not a pitch or bulk mail. If you have something thoughtful to say, this is the way.
alex@alexmbugua.me$ ls ~/active/ _
Where to find me
Places I actually show up:
$ cat ~/channels.txt _
How I use each channel
email/
Direct conversation. Questions, feedback, collaboration ideas, or just saying hi. I prefer email over DMs on any platform.
this site/
My main output. Blog posts, notes, projects, and the occasional longer piece. If I have thought about something long enough to write it down properly, it ends up here. There is also a guestbook if you want to leave a note publicly.
github/
Where my code lives. Open source projects, this site's source, and the occasional contribution to things I actually use. Issues and PRs are welcome on anything I maintain.
tiktok/
My most active social presence right now. Mostly chip music content, retro-computing things, and whatever else crosses my desk. Short-form, low-commitment, genuinely fun.
youtube/
Home for my gaming content. I post pre-recorded gameplay's and occasionally go live here.
discord/
Mostly for communities I'm part of. If we share a server, feel free to ping me. I'm not always monitoring DMs here, email is still better.
linkedin/
I keep a profile there and I do check messages occasionally. It is the right place for professional enquiries, though email is still faster and more likely to get a response.
$ grep -v "^active" ~/platforms.txt _
Where I'm not really
The full list of accounts that are actually mine is on the /verify page.
$ cat ~/before-you-ping.txt _
A few things worth knowing first
- Make sure you verify you are actually talking to me.
- I won't necessarily respond right away. Most of the time I'm chronically online and will reply embarrassingly fast. Occasionally I take extended hiatuses and you might not hear from me for a while. No offense, just life.
- Get to know me! You can check out my, interests, what I'm up to, now, why I do what I do here, or read through some of my more personal musings.
- Most things I have to say online end up here on the site eventually. Blog posts, notes, project write-ups. Worth doing a little spelunking before asking something I may have already written about.
- Not looking to say hi but want to stay current? Subscribe to the RSS feed . No algorithm, no noise, just posts when I publish them.
- Professional enquiries: you can view my resume as PDF or read the text version .
- There is a guestbook if you would rather say something publicly. I read every entry.
- In the Nairobi / Westlands area and want to meet up? Send me a message and who knows! Maybe I'm free for such a thing.
- Bug hunters should go here.

If you made it here, you probably have something to say. I would genuinely like to hear it. Send me an email. It's the best way.
